Project Description

Beit Lehi is an active archaeological site southwest of Jerusalem. Seven AVAR veterans participated in the project in 2019.

This project is focused on the excavation of a Hellenistic temple, marking a break from conflict-related sites, and an opportunity to conduct a detailed stratigraphic excavation, and is co-directed by Dr. Oren Gutfeld, Michal Haber, and Pablo Betzer of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the Israel Antiquities Authority.
